MASH MAKING SCHEDULED for January 21 and 22, noon start each day.  More details--limited space so e-mail or text to reserve your chair and get your items assigned.

Sara wrote a great article on pet rescues for The Tonka Times.  Check it out!

PAEP does not have regular meetings but we do host events for the benefit of the parrots and/or their owners.  Hoping to set dates for Mash and Toys in January--will post here, and will then take reservations.

Mash Making is a fun and interactive way to meet others with an interest in parrots.  This event is to give hands-on experience in preparing this salad-type food for our birds.  Our presentation is based on information from The Gabriel Foundation, and a hand-out is provided to take home.  Each attendee is asked to bring one or two items from a list of possible ingredients as their "admission fee".  We all help in preparing the items (washing or cooking) and then sit at tables and chop and chat.  All ingredients are put into one very large container, mixed together, and then distributed to each participant.   Our primary objective is to show how to make and store the mash.  We also give information or references to include the proper ratios for the best nutrition.

Toy Making/Remaking is a valuable and money-saving event to use those dis-assembled toy parts you have after the birds un-make their toys.  PAEP has many parts and components here as well, new and parrot-tested.   The foster birds always need toys.   If you bring your own parts and use some of our components, we ask a small donation to cover those materials.
